Job Purpose

To lead and manage all Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality activities under the NYU Project, ensuring full compliance with client requirements, contractual obligations, company policies, legal regulations, and applicable HSEQ standards.

The role is responsible for implementing HSEQ systems, monitoring site compliance, managing incidents and non-conformities, driving corrective actions, and promoting a strong culture of safety, quality, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement.

Education &

Qualification:

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, HSE, Environmental Management, Quality Management, Facilities Management, or related field.
NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification is preferred.
ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 Internal / Lead Auditor certification are preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office; CAFM or HSEQ reporting system knowledge is an advantage.

Experience and Skills:

Industry Experience (No. of years):

Minimum 8-10 years of experience in HSEQ, facilities management, construction, engineering, infrastructure, or large-scale project operations.

Position/functional experience (No. of years):

Minimum 5-7 years of experience in an HSEQ supervisory or managerial role, preferably within a university, commercial, residential, hospitality, or high-profile client environment.

Good understanding of risk assessments, incident investigation, NCRs, and corrective actions.

Strong reporting, documentation, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.

Roles, Responsibilities, Duties

HSEQ Management and Compliance
Lead the implementation of HSEQ policies, procedures, plans, and systems across the NYU Project.
Ensure compliance with client requirements, contractual obligations, company standards, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Monitor alignment with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and internal management system requirements.
Review and update risk assessments, method statements, inspection plans, emergency procedures, and HSEQ documentation.
Health and Safety Management
Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks.
Identify hazards, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and high-risk activities, ensuring timely corrective actions.
Monitor the use of PPE, tools, equipment, permits, chemical handling, and safe systems of work.
Promote a strong safety culture among employees, supervisors, subcontractors, and service teams.
Environmental Management
Monitor waste management, recycling, chemical storage, spill prevention, energy use, and environmental controls.
Ensure environmental practices comply with client, company, and regulatory requirements.
Support sustainability initiatives and environmental improvement programs.
Investigate environmental incidents and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
Quality Management
Ensure service delivery complies with approved SOPs, method statements, checklists, SLAs, KPIs, and quality standards.
Conduct quality inspections and audits to verify operational performance and compliance.
Monitor non-conformities, service gaps, complaints, and recurring quality issues.
Coordinate corrective actions to improve service quality and client satisfaction.
