AECOM is seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer in Abu Dhabi, UAE to support quality assurance and quality control on a major rail infrastructure programme. Working as a Senior Professional within the project management team, the role oversees quality across design, construction, testing, and commissioning, ensuring that project activities comply with contractual requirements, technical specifications, approved quality systems, and applicable standards. Close coordination with contractors, designers, and the client is central to the position.

• Review and approve contractor quality documentation, including Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, method statements, and quality procedures.
• Monitor contractor compliance with the approved quality management system, contract specifications, and relevant international standards.
• Plan and conduct quality audits and surveillance covering contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Track corrective actions arising from audits and surveillance activities through to close-out.
• Witness and verify inspections, tests, hold points, and witness points at construction sites and during factory acceptance testing.
• Review material and equipment submittals, test certificates, and supporting conformance documentation.
• Raise, track, and close non-conformance reports and analyze root causes to help prevent recurrence.
• Oversee quality records, including inspection requests, test results, and as-built documents, ensuring records remain complete and traceable for project handover.
• Support testing and commissioning activities and verify completion of the quality documentation required for system acceptance.
• Prepare periodic quality reports and key performance indicators for project management and the client.
• Lead quality coordination meetings with relevant project stakeholders.
• Promote consistent application of project quality requirements throughout design, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.

• Technical or engineering university degree.
• Minimum 10 years of QA/QC experience on similar projects.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and quality auditing practices.
• Proven experience reviewing Inspection and Test Plans, method statements, and material submittals.
• Demonstrated experience managing non-conformance reports and associated corrective actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Rail or metro QA/QC experience is desirable, including exposure to civil works, track, signalling, power, communications, or other railway systems.
• Experience in a PMC, consultant, or client-side environment is also desirable, along with previous Middle East experience, particularly within the UAE.
• Candidates with ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification will have relevant additional credentials.
• Familiarity with EN 50126, EN 50128, and EN 50129 RAMS standards and FIDIC contracts is desirable, as is experience supporting testing, commissioning, system acceptance, and handover on major infrastructure projects.

A Bachelor 's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline is required.

Professional certification or membership through organizations such as CQI-IRCA or ASQ is considered an advantage.

This role combines quality management oversight with direct involvement in contractor surveillance, inspections, audits, factory acceptance testing, NCR management, documentation control, testing, commissioning, and final system handover. The QA/QC Engineer will work across project interfaces to maintain traceable quality records and ensure that contractors meet established requirements while supporting timely programme delivery.
