Product Inspection
Conduct inspection of steel products produced in RM3 Rolling Mill according to approved specifications and quality requirements.
Inspect product dimensions, shape, weight and surface condition.
Verify finished products against applicable product standards and customer specifications.
Ensure inspection is carried out at the required stages of production.
Identify and report surface defects such as:
Cracks
Seams
Scabs
Rolled-in defects
Scratches
Laps
Scale defects
Mechanical damage
Dimensional abnormalities.
Coordinate with Production/Operations for investigation and rectification of quality issues.
Check dimensions, section size, length, straightness and other applicable parameters.
Verify product measurements against approved specifications/tolerances.
Ensure measuring instruments are properly maintained and available for inspection.
Collect samples from production/finished products as per inspection plans.
Coordinate with the laboratory/metallurgy team for required testing.
Ensure samples are correctly identified and traceable to the relevant heat, batch and production line.
5 years of experience in Quality Control/Inspection within the steel industry.
Experience in a rolling mill, finishing mill or steel manufacturing plant is strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience in inspection of rolled steel products, dimensions and surface quality.
