RIBCRAFT is a globally established brand in the design and manufacture of professional and military-grade Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIBs), built on over 30 years of British naval design heritage, with a strong international presence across the defence, coast guard, law enforcement, search and rescue, and commercial maritime sectors.
About the RoleRIBCRAFT Boat Building LLC, Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer to oversee quality assurance and quality control throughout the manufacturing process of RHIBs and composite boats, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, applicable marine standards and classification requirements, from initial lamination through to final inspection and acceptance.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure all vessels are manufactured in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards and applicable classification requirements.
- Conduct quality inspections at all stages of production, including incoming materials, composite lamination, under-deck installations, hull-to-deck joining, outfitting, electrical systems and engine rigging.
- Develop and implement Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality control checklists and inspection procedures.
- Conduct in-process inspections, identify non-conformities and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring corrective actions are implemented and verified.
- Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and support final vessel acceptance and handover procedures.
- Prepare, maintain and manage quality control records, inspection reports, testing documentation and final acceptance records.
- Coordinate inspections and technical compliance reviews with third-party surveyors, classification societies and customer representatives, as applicable.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and Project teams to resolve quality issues, minimise rework and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Monitor quality performance and support continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and quality control procedures.
- 4–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control within boat building, shipbuilding or a related marine manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of composite boat construction, GRP lamination, hull and deck assembly, marine outfitting and mechanical/electrical installations.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings, manufacturing specifications and applicable marine quality standards.
- Currently based in the UAE, preferably in Abu Dhabi.
- Previous QA/QC experience in GRP/composite boat manufacturing.
