Job Summary
The Coating / Painting & Insulation Inspector is responsible for inspecting coating, painting, and insulation activities to ensure compliance with approved project specifications, quality standards, and applicable procedures. The role involves verifying surface preparation, coating application, insulation installation, and workmanship while maintaining inspection records and ensuring the required quality standards are achieved.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesInspect surface preparation activities, including cleaning, abrasive blasting, and surface profile, as required by project specifications.
Verify environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, and dew point, before and during coating application.
Inspect coating and painting application, including paint mixing, application methods, dry film thickness (DFT), and curing.
Conduct or coordinate coating quality tests, including adhesion and holiday testing, where applicable.
Inspect insulation materials, installation, thickness, jointing, and finishing against approved drawings and specifications.
Verify insulation cladding, sealing, weatherproofing, and protection of insulated equipment and piping.
Review approved procedures, method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and inspection checklists.
Identify coating defects, insulation deficiencies, and other non-conformities; coordinate corrective actions and verify rectification.
Maintain inspection reports, coating test records, material certificates, and insulation quality documentation.
Coordinate with construction teams, QA/QC personnel, contractors, and client representatives to resolve quality issues.
Ensure compliance with project quality requirements and applicable site safety procedures.
3-year Diploma or 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
BGAS Grade 2 or equivalent certification.
Insulation Inspector certification.
Relevant experience in coating, painting, and insulation inspection in industrial projects.
Knowledge of surface preparation, coating application, inspection techniques, and insulation installation standards.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, project specifications, method statements, and ITPs.
Experience in inspection documentation, quality reporting, defect identification, and corrective action follow-up.
Good communication, coordination, and technical reporting skills.
Valid UAE/GCC driving license preferred
