Quality Control Technician
Inspect incoming materials, components, work in progress, and finished products against approved drawings, specifications, and inspection plans. Carry out visual and dimensional inspections using appropriate measuring and test equipment. Record inspection results accurately and maintain product identification and traceability. Identify, document, and report defects and non-conforming materials or products. Ensure non-conforming items are clearly identified and segregated in accordance with company procedures.
Work with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to investigate quality issues and support corrective actions. Check that inspection equipment is within its calibration period and report damaged or unsuitable equipment. Support quality audits and improvements to inspection methods and processes. Follow company health, safety, housekeeping, and applicable ESD requirements.
Candidates should have strong knowledge and practical experience in: CNC-machined metal parts – Incoming Quality Inspection (IQC). Use of inspection and testing equipment, including:
Micrometer Vernier Caliper Plug Gauges / Ring Gauges Height Gauge Surface Roughness Tester Thread Gauges. Material specifications and applicable standards, including material certificates and verification
Dimensional tolerances, GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation. Knowledge of fit, torque, stress and fastening requirements. Knowledge of different surface treatments and applicable standards, such as:
Anodizing – MIL-A-8625
Chemical conversion coating – MIL-DTL-5541
Passivation – ASTM A967 / AMS 2700
Knowledge of MIL-STD requirements applicable to mechanical components, finishes and assembly/fastening. Ability to inspect components against engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs and inspection plans.
Candidates should have practical knowledge of: PCB handling and ESD control requirements, including ANSI/ESD S20.20. PCB inspection and testing standards, including IPC-A-600 and IPC-A-610. PCB assembly workmanship and acceptance criteria. Wiring inspection and testing, including continuity, insulation resistance and hipot testing. Wire harness inspection and testing, including:
Continuity testing
Short/open circuit testing
Pin-to-pin verification
Insulation resistance
Dielectric withstand / hipot testing. IPC/WHMA-A-620 requirements for cable and wire harness assemblies. Knowledge of applicable MIL-STD requirements for electrical/electronic assemblies and testing. Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and harness drawings. Experience with electrical inspection and test equipment.
Technical diploma, vocational qualification, or equivalent practical experience in a relevant discipline. 2-3 years of quality control or inspection experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Experience using measuring equipment such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and accurate data entry. Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems is an advantage.
Electronics assembly, mechanical manufacturing or other relevant industry experience is preferred.
