Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Inspector with expertise in welding, painting and coating inspection. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting mechanical quality activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable standards and quality requirements. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background, relevant inspection certifications and hands‑on experience in multi‑discipline inspection activities.
Roles & Responsibilities- Conduct mechanical inspections with a primary focus on welding, painting and coating activities.
- Perform welding inspections at various stages, including fit‑up, welding and final visual inspection.
- Verify welding procedures, WPS, PQR, welder qualifications and applicable technical documentation.
- Inspect surface preparation, abrasive blasting, painting and coating application activities.
- Monitor coating quality, including surface profile, environmental conditions and Dry Film Thickness (DFT).
- Perform or coordinate NDT inspections, including RT, MT, PT, and UT as per project requirements.
- Identify welding and coating defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Review inspection reports, test results, quality records and relevant technical documents.
- Ensure all inspection activities comply with project specifications, approved procedures and applicable codes.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams, site engineers, contractors and client representatives.
- Maintain inspection records and support quality audits and project documentation.
- Technical Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8–10 years of relevant work experience in welding, painting, and coating inspection.
- ASNT Level II certification in RT, MT, PT, and UT.
- CSWIP 3.1 or AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification.
- BGAS Grade 2 or equivalent certification.
- Strong knowledge of welding inspection, surface preparation, painting and coating procedures.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and inspection documents.
- Valid UAE / GCC driving licence preferred.
