Path Kawader: Research Assistant - Molecular biology of plant symbiont interactions, D
The Cornille laboratory in the Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks a research assistant. The successful applicant will conduct population epigenomics analyses on plants.
Main foci of the analyses- Identification of molecules, genes, and epigenomic features that have evolved adaptively or play a role in the response to stress.
- The associated microbiomes involved.
The successful applicant will have the chance to develop an independent research project aligned with the lab's focus on molecular biology and/or evolutionary genomics. Motivated applicants with a background in molecular biology are encouraged to apply.
SupervisionThis position is supervised by Dr. Amandine Cornille.
QualificationsSuccessful candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Biology. Substantial experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desired:
- Conduct techniques in molecular biology by adapting experimental conditions (apply health and safety rules, extract and sequence DNA and RNA).
- Execute fundamental statistical analyses, with some skills in bioinformatics analysis being a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, as well as demonstrate scientific creativity, are essential.
