• Conduct research on bias detection, mitigation, and fairness in AI and data science
• Build fairness-aware algorithms and develop tools for evaluating systemic bias in data pipelines
• Analyze design and development decisions that contribute to algorithmic and social biases
• Develop theoretical frameworks and guidelines for responsible and equitable AI systems
• Collaborate with faculty and interdisciplinary teams across computer science, ethics, HCI, and data science

• PhD in computer engineering, computer science, data science, AI, HCI, or related field
