Position OverviewNew York University Abu Dhabi is seeking an Astrophysics Research Fellow to join the Center for Astrophysics and Space Science in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This postdoctoral research position focuses on advanced research in extrasolar planets, galactic and extragalactic astrophysics, cosmology, and astroparticle physics within a leading global higher education and research institution.

- Conduct independent research in one or more core areas including extrasolar planets, galactic astrophysics, cosmology, or dark matter studies
- Develop theoretical, observational, or computational research projects aligned with CASS priorities
- Strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration across planetary physics, astrophysics, and astroparticle physics
- Analyze large-scale observational and simulation data using advanced computational resources
- Utilize high-performance computing facilities including the Jubail 70000-core cluster and GPU-based systems
- Contribute to research publications in leading peer‑reviewed scientific journals
- Present findings at international conferences and academic seminars
Support graduate students and collaborate with faculty researchers within the center - Contribute to building scientific links across different research domains within CASS
- PhD in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, or closely related discipline
- Within five years of receiving PhD at the time of appointment
- Strong record of research publications in relevant scientific fields
- Experience with observational data analysis, numerical simulations, or theoretical modeling
- Familiarity with high-performance computing environments and advanced data processing tools
- Ability to collaborate in an international, multidisciplinary academic setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
