Position Overview

New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a Post-Doctoral Associate to join the newly established NYUAD Wireless Research Center. This role focuses on advanced research in channel modeling and characterization for communication and sensing in emerging spectrum bands for 6G and beyond, including FR3, THz, and optical frequencies. The position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of next-generation wireless technologies within a globally connected research environment in Abu Dhabi.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct extensive channel measurement campaigns to characterize integrated sensing and communication channel models across emerging spectrum bands.
  • Develop and analyze channel models that capture the interaction between communication and sensing systems.
  • Contribute to optical channel modeling and perform comparative studies with THz frequency bands.
  • Publish research outcomes in high‑impact international journals and present findings at leading global conferences.
  • Support intellectual property development through patent filings and contribute to relevant standardization activities.
  • Collaborate with academic and industrial partners in advancing wireless communication and sensing technologies.
Ideal Profile
  • PhD in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a closely related field.
  • Strong background in channel modeling and characterization for wireless systems.
  • Expertise in areas such as radio system modeling, electromagnetics, antennas, propagation, RF front‑ends, or radar systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with RF and/or optical measurement setups, including channel sounding and propagation measurement campaigns.
  • Experience using RF or optical ray‑tracing simulation tools such as Wireless Insite or Zemax.
  • Proven research record with publications in recognized IEEE journals and conferences.
