Post-Doctoral Associate Division Science; Biology - Dr. Kenichiro Kamei
Offer Description
The Kamei Reverse Bioengineering Laboratory within the Division of Science and Engineering at NYU Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Post‑Doctoral Associate position that advances the frontiers of developmental biology and disease modeling. The laboratory integrates stem‑cell biology, fluorescence imaging, bioinformatics, and advanced nano‑ and micro‑engineering to decode organogenesis and early embryogenesis, translating these insights into regenerative medicine, drug discovery, and precision therapeutics.
The appointed fellow will design and fabricate nano‑ and micro‑engineered platforms that interface with human stem cells, investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms governing development and pathology, lead experiments from conception through publication in high‑impact journals, mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers, and contribute to grant writing and interdisciplinary collaborations.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in science, engineering, or a closely related field awarded before the start date and be within the first five years post‑receiving a Ph.D. Competitive candidates will demonstrate expertise in areas such as device design and fabrication, stem‑cell culture and differentiation, high‑resolution imaging, single‑cell or bulk omics, or bioinformatics, together with a strong publication record, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
For consideration, applicants need to submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae with full publication list, statement of research interests, transcript, and three letters of reference, all in PDF format. Contact: kk4801 (Ken‑ichiro Kamei, laboratory PI).
