The Language, Mind and Brain Lab is seeking a motivated recent graduate to join as a Research Assistant. This position offers hands‑on experience in psycho linguistic and/or neurolinguistic research, working closely with faculty and other research staff on ongoing projects. The ideal candidate will build essential research skills (including in cutting‑edge research methods like M/EEG, fMRI, behavioral experiments), strengthen their academic profile, and receive tailored mentorship (e.g., statement reviews, application guidance) for future graduate school applications (MA/PhD).
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with experimental design, data collection, and analysis in experiments on language processing.
- Conduct literature reviews and contribute to academic manuscripts.
- Participate in lab meetings, research discussions, and training sessions.
- Help with administrative tasks related to research projects.
This position is supervised by Dr. Diogo Almeida
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Psychology, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Coursework in linguistic theory (e.g., syntax, semantics, phonology) is preferred.
- Prior research experience (e.g., undergraduate thesis, RA work or other independent projects) in psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, or adjacent fields is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Interest in pursuing graduate studies (MA/PhD) in psychology, linguistics, or cognitive science/neuroscience.
