Biological and Life Sciences Division – Research Appointment Positions

MBZUAI’s Biological and Life Sciences Division in Abu Dhabi focuses on research at the intersection of Genomics, Multi‑Omics, Personalized Medicine, Precision Therapeutics, Epidemiology, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). A flagship initiative is the Human Phenotype Project, a large‑scale longitudinal cohort and biobank that collects comprehensive medical, lifestyle, and multi‑omic data (genetics, transcriptomics, microbiomics, metabolomics, immune markers, and continuous glucose and sleep monitoring).

The division applies advanced AI and computational models to uncover disease mechanisms, identify novel biomarkers, and develop predictive models for disease onset and progression, translating insights into personalized prevention strategies and innovative therapeutics.

• Conduct high‑quality research in AI with a focus on multi‑omics data analysis and fusion for precision medicine.
• Design and implement innovative AI algorithms and models to solve complex problems.

• Analyze and interpret research data and present findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong background in data science, bioinformatics, network science, AI, machine learning, or deep learning.
• Solid understanding of AI algorithms, models, and frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python, Tensor Flow, PyTorch, and Nextflow.
• Record of publications in top‑tier conferences or journals in bioinformatics or AI.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
