Research Scientist

HCT is looking for a Research Scientist – Robotics and Autonomous Systems to provide scientific and technical leadership within the RAS Research Centre.

• Lead high-impact robotics research and development projects
• Provide expert guidance in robotic system design, software development, integration, testing and validation
• Develop laboratory and field-based robotic prototypes and pilot demonstrations
• Prepare competitive research proposals and secure external funding
• Publish research in leading peer-reviewed journals and conferences
• Generate patents, intellectual property and innovative robotics technologies
• Build collaborations with industry, government and academic institutions
• Support technology transfer, commercialization and industrial engagement
• Coordinate multidisciplinary research teams and project deliverables
• Mentor Research Associates, postgraduate researchers and students
• Contribute to the Centre’s long-term research strategy and technology roadmap

• PhD in Robotics or a related engineering or computer science discipline
• Minimum two years of postdoctoral or equivalent industrial research experience
• Strong publication record and experience in externally funded research projects
