NYU Abu Dhabi’s Cell Death Signaling Laboratory is seeking a Junior Research Scientist to investigate the molecular mechanisms of acid sphingomyelinase (ASM) in ferroptosis
. The research focuses on how the tumor‑suppressive lipid ceramide regulates ferroptosis and promotes iron‑mediated lipid peroxidation
. The successful candidate will employ molecular and biochemical approaches, including Western blotting, qRT-PCR, RNA sequencing, HPLC, FACS, and fluorescence microscopy
, to study ASM‑related cell death signaling pathways.
- Master’s degree in Biochemistry or a related discipline.
- At least two years of relevant research experience.
- Prior experience in regulated cell death pathways (apoptosis, autophagy, necroptosis, ferroptosis, or oxeiptosis).
- Experience in sphingolipid research.
- Conduct advanced cell‑based and molecular experiments.
- Contribute to experimental design, data analysis, and research publications.
- Collaborate with PhD-level scientists, graduate students, and undergraduates.
