Job DescriptionThe Lab and Research Engineer is expected to maintain and develop the Educational and Research Labs, to assist local students and researchers, to welcome external researchers, to perform experiments in the frame of research projects and to be part of the Research projects of the Ocean Institute in Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD). The Lab & Research Engineer will be specifically attached to the Ocean Lab and, working closely with the project leaders, he will be responsible for maintaining the equipment and infrastructures in full operational condition in support of the Mangrove Ecology program, the marine vertebrate biodiversity project (MARVEL), and the cetacean and dugong monitoring project.
She or he will also be part of the students mentoring and may assist Lab sessions in the Bachelor and/or master’s classes. S/he will also collaborate with faculty members, in promoting the department’s activities on local, regional, and international levels, serve on committees, and participate in the life of the University.
