New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a Post-Doctoral Associate to join the Kamei Reverse Bioengineering Laboratory in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Working across the Divisions of Science and Engineering, the position combines developmental biology, stem-cell research, fluorescence imaging, bioinformatics, and nano- and micro-engineering to investigate organogenesis and early embryogenesis. The successful candidate will develop engineered platforms for human stem-cell research and contribute to studies with potential applications in regenerative medicine, drug discovery, disease modeling, and precision therapeutics.

The Post-Doctoral Associate will lead experimental research from initial conception through analysis and publication.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design and fabricate nano- and micro-engineered research platforms.
• Develop engineered systems that interface with human stem cells.
• Investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms governing development and pathology.
• Design and execute experimental studies.
• Apply relevant stem-cell, imaging, engineering, omics, or computational approaches to research questions.
• Analyze and interpret experimental findings.
• Lead research projects through preparation for publication.
• Prepare manuscripts for submission to high-impact academic journals.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary research collaborations.
• Participate in grant writing activities.
• Mentor graduate researchers.

Applicants must hold a PhD in science, engineering, or a closely related field before the position start date. Candidates must also be within the first five years following receipt of their PhD.

Competitive candidates will demonstrate expertise in one or more areas relevant to the laboratory 's research program, including:
