New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a Junior Research Scientist to support the Center for Behavioral Institutional Design (C-BID) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This full-time research opportunity combines behavioral and survey research with quantitative analysis, fieldwork, research programming, and project coordination. The successful candidate will contribute to C-BID 's research portfolio, including a new behavioral science partnership with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), while supporting research delivery and related center activities.

The appointment is initially offered for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to performance and funding.

• Support the design and programming of research surveys.
• Coordinate and assist with participant recruitment.
• Participate in research fieldwork in the UAE.
• Support the preparation and management of research ethics applications.
• Organize and maintain research data.
• Conduct quantitative data processing and analysis.
• Assist with experimental, behavioral, and survey-based research activities.
• Prepare research reports, presentations, and related materials.
• Contribute to C-BID projects and team activities as required.
• Provide administrative and project assistance on an ad hoc basis.
• Support events, media, and outreach activities when needed.
• Contribute to research activities associated with the behavioral science partnership with IFAW.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor 's or Master 's degree in a social science or related field and have less than five years of experience.

Candidates should have previous experience with experimental, behavioral, or survey research and demonstrate strong quantitative and programming capabilities.

Relevant research and programming tools include:

• Qualtrics.
• Python.
• R.
• Stata.
• oTree.
• Java.

Candidates are not stated to require experience with every listed tool, but should possess strong quantitative and programming skills relevant to the research activities of the position.

Fluency in English is required. Arabic or another regional language is considered an advantage. The role requires a collaborative team member who can contribute effectively to research projects while also supporting the broader operational activities of C-BID.

The Center for Behavioral Institutional Design provides an interdisciplinary environment for behavioral and social science research. The Junior Research Scientist will gain practical involvement across survey development, participant recruitment, ethics processes, field research, quantitative analysis, reporting, and research communication. The position also provides exposure to collaborative research involving external organizations through C-BID 's behavioral science partnership with the International Fund for Animal Welfare.

The appointment is initially for one year and may be renewed subject to performance and available funding.
