Position Overview New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a Kawader Research Assistant to join the Language, Mind and Brain Lab in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Supervised by Dr. Diogo Almeida, the position offers a recent graduate hands-on experience in psycho linguistic and neurolinguistic research involving language processing, behavioral experiments, M-EEG, and fMRI. The role is designed to develop practical research capabilities while providing mentorship for candidates interested in future MA or PhD study in psychology, linguistics, cognitive science, neuroscience, or related fields.

The Research Assistant will work closely with faculty and research staff on ongoing projects investigating language processing.

Key responsibilities include:

• * Assist with the design of psycho linguistic and neurolinguistic experiments.
• * Support participant data collection and research procedures.
• * Contribute to the analysis of experimental data.
• * Participate in research involving language processing.
• * Conduct literature reviews relevant to ongoing projects.
• * Contribute to the preparation of academic manuscripts.
• * Attend laboratory meetings and research discussions.
• * Participate in research methods training and other lab training sessions.
• * Support administrative activities associated with research projects.

The position provides practical exposure to research methodologies used in the study of language, mind, and brain. Depending on the research project, this may include:

• * M-EEG methods.
• * Functional magnetic resonance imaging.
• * Behavioral experiments.
• * Psycholinguistic research.
• * Neurolinguistic research.
• * Experimental design.
• * Data collection and analysis.
• * Academic literature review and manuscript development.

The role also provides tailored academic mentorship, including support such as statement reviews and application guidance for future graduate school applications.

• * Bachelor 's degree in Psychology, Linguistics, or a related field.
• * Strong organizational skills.
• * Proficiency in English and Arabic.
• * Interest in pursuing graduate study at the MA or PhD level in psychology, linguistics, cognitive science, neuroscience, or a related area.

• * Coursework in linguistic theory, including areas such as syntax, semantics, or phonology.
• * Previous research experience through an undergraduate thesis, Research Assistant position, or another independent research project.
• * Research exposure to psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, or adjacent fields.

This position is offered through the NYU Abu Dhabi Kawader program, a three-year national capacity-building research fellowship program designed to provide outstanding graduates with experience in an advanced academic research environment.
