, to build the team behind one of Abu Dhabi's most anticipated openings. We’re looking for passionate professionals to join us as we prepare to open Abu Dhabi’s first Time Out Market - a vibrant new destination for food, culture and entertainment under one roof!
THE ROLE
We love what we do – and it shows! Time Out Market is the division of Time Out that brings our food and cultural experiences to life for our guests, readers and clients.
Our Market Café Supervisor provides outstanding guest service and product to ensure that each of our guests enjoys a memorable experience with every visit.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Supervise daily operations of the café to ensure efficient and smooth service
- Ensure all opening, operating and closing procedures are completed according to company standards
- Lead, motivate and support the barista team to achieve operational excellence
- Conduct daily shift briefings and communicate operational duties to team members
- Schedule and assign daily duties and responsibilities
- Monitor workflow and allocate tasks to team members throughout the shift
- Respond promptly to operational challenges and implement effective solutions
- Train new employees and support ongoing staff development
- Train and coach team members on service, product knowledge and SOPs
- Foster teamwork, professionalism and a positive work environment
- Ensure all guests receive exceptional, friendly and professional service
- Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally and effectively
- Manage stock levels, inventory, product rotation and wastage
- Monitor POS transactions, payment handling and daily sales activities
- Support the achievement of sales targets through upselling and effective service
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safety
- Complete shift handovers, reports and operational records
- Minimum of six months to one year of direct work experience
- Knowledge of drink recipes and beverage presentation
- Experience in high-volume operations, opening and closing duties, guest relations, and sanitation and safety
- Ability to create and maintain a sense of urgency
- Ability to perform basic mathematical equations
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and assertively in English, verbally and in writing, with staff, clients and the public
- Ability to maintain composure, personal integrity and a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude always and listen empathetically
- Ability to work as a team, stay organised, handle various projects at one time, follow up and make accurate decisions
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy environment, work under pressure and meet deadlines
- High School Diploma preferred
Restaurant environment with varying levels of noise and crowds depending on guest volume. The role is physically active - extended periods standing, moving at pace, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Varied shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays. A professional, neat and well-groomed appearance is required at all times.
