We are seeking a talented and hands-on Junior Sous Chef to join the opening team at ISOLA Abu Dhabi
. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Italian restaurants
, with practical knowledge of authentic Italian cuisine and experience supporting kitchen operations in a busy à la carte environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations.
- Supervise assigned sections, ensuring mise en place and service readiness.
- Prepare and oversee Italian dishes according to approved recipes, presentation and quality standards.
- Coordinate with other sections to ensure smooth and timely service.
- Train and guide junior chefs in cooking techniques, food preparation and kitchen procedures.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, portion control and waste reduction.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and storage standards.
- Support pre-opening preparations, including kitchen setup, recipe trials and team training.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong experience in Italian restaurants or dedicated Italian à la carte kitchens is essential.
- Practical knowledge of pasta, risotto, Italian sauces, and meat and seafood preparation.
- Experience working in a busy restaurant while maintaining consistent quality.
- Strong organisation, communication and team supervision skills.
- UAE or GCC restaurant experience is an advantage.
- Pre-opening experience is preferred.
