Job SummaryThe cashier is responsible for receiving payments from customers. They must accurately record the sales transaction and ensure all money received is accounted for. The job involves providing excellent customer service, resolving customer complaints, and balancing the cash register at the end of each shift.
Responsibilities- Greet customers upon entry into store
- Receive payment by cash, credit cards, vouchers or automatic debits
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
- Resolve customer complaints in a courteous manner
- Maintain cleanliness of checkout area
