- Support the achievement of store sales and profitability targets.
- Monitor performance across sales, payroll, shrink, and conversion.
- Develop and execute actions designed to maximise store sales.
- Control operating expenses in line with established requirements.
- Review business reports and use performance data to support commercial decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales results and operational efficiency.
- Support effective daily store operations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Protect company assets by applying established loss prevention measures.
- Oversee inventory controls and stock accuracy.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound stock movements.
- Ensure sales, returns, and exchanges are handled according to approved procedures.
- Maintain appropriate standards across the sales floor, stockroom, and other store areas.
- Monitor store maintenance requirements and follow up where necessary.
- Support recruitment and hiring activities based on store requirements.
- Assist with developing and retaining capable store associates.
- Contribute to succession planning and employee development.
- Coach team members on product knowledge, selling techniques, and visual merchandising.
- Provide ongoing feedback to improve individual and team performance.
- Organise weekly staff meetings and daily operational briefings.
- Communicate store results, business priorities, and company initiatives clearly to the team.
- Lead by example through active participation in store operations.
Customer service is a core responsibility of the Assistant Store Manager. The role requires regular visibility on the selling floor to support employees, respond to customer questions, and help maintain a consistent service experience. The Assistant Store Manager will also ensure that promotional activities and visual merchandising standards are implemented correctly while maintaining an organised and customer-ready environment.
