Job Summary:
We are seeking a courteous and reliable Supermarket Cashier to process customer purchases accurately and provide efficient checkout service. The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling payments, assisting customers, and maintaining accuracy in a busy supermarket environment.
- Scan products and process customer purchases using the checkout system.
- Accept cash, card, and other authorized forms of payment.
- Issue receipts and ensure transactions are completed accurately.
- Handle cash responsibly and follow cash register procedures.
- Assist customers with basic questions, pricing concerns, and checkout issues.
- Keep the checkout area clean and organized and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic mathematics and cash-handling skills.
- Good communication and customer service abilities.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems or basic computer operations.
- Strong attention to detail, honesty, and reliability.
- Previous supermarket, retail, or cashier experience is preferred.
