We’re hiring a Sales Director for an FMCG principal in canned food and snacking
. This is a senior commercial leadership role focused on building and scaling Modern Trade accounts across the UAE and appointing/managing regional distributors to accelerate growth, visibility, and market penetration.
You’ll own the UAE sales strategy
, lead key account development
, and drive a high‑performance route-to-market (RTM) model across Modern Trade, General Trade, and regional distribution
.
- Develop and execute the UAE go-to-market strategy for canned food and snack categories
- Build, negotiate, and grow Modern Trade / Key Accounts in the UAE (listing, promotions, trade terms, JBPs)
- Drive new listings, shelf space, planograms, merchandising, and visibility across major retailers
- Appoint, onboard, and manage regional distributors (UAE + wider GCC exposure preferred)
- Manage pricing strategy,
trade spend
, promotional calendars, and category growth plans - Deliver accurate forecasting, demand planning inputs, and S&OP alignment
- Monitor market intelligence: competitor activity, pricing, promotions, and channel opportunities
- Build and coach a sales team (if applicable) and create strong KPI‑driven execution culture
- Proven experience as a Sales Director / Head of Sales / Senior Sales Manager within FMCG food (canned food, snacking, grocery, ambient food, impulse categories)
- Strong track record in Modern Trade UAE
: key account management, negotiations, and retailer relationships - Hands‑on expertise in appointing distributors and building a scalable distribution / RTM model
- Strong understanding of UAE retail landscape and trade dynamics
- Commercially sharp: P&L mindset, margin management, pricing, trade terms, trade marketing
- Data‑driven approach to forecasting, sales planning, and performance management
- Excellent stakeholder management with principals, distributors, and retail buyers
- UAE experience is essential; GCC exposure is a strong advantage
- Modern Trade accounts opened/expanded with strong rate of sale and promotional cadence
- High‑performing distributor network appointed with clear territories, targets, and execution standards
- Improved distribution, availability, visibility
, and consistent on‑shelf execution across priority channels - Predictable forecasting and strong commercial governance (terms, pricing, trade spend control)
