Regional Chief Security Officer (RCSO) leads security and strategic intelligence for the Regional Office. The role protects the Group’s people, operations, assets, information, reputation and supply chains while providing senior management with timely geopolitical and security analysis.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Intelligence- Monitor geopolitical, military, political and security developments affecting the Group.
- Produce executive assessments, early-warning reports, risk analyses and crisis briefings.
- Translate intelligence into actionable recommendations and contingency measures.
- In coordination with the Headquarter, advise Group Management, Regional Directors and Country General Managers during sensitive situations.
- Oversee the protection of employees, seafarers, contractors and business travellers.
- Manage travel risks, security briefings, staff tracking and escalation protocols.
- Develop and test relocation, evacuation and emergency communication plans.
- Coordinate responses to threats, detention, civil unrest, conflict or medical-security incidents.
- Implement Group security policies and minimum standards across both regions.
- In accordance with Headquarter, lead security assessments covering countries, offices, ports, terminals and supply chains.
- Maintain regional risk registers, country ratings and mitigation plans.
- Advise on physical security, access control, guarding, CCTV and secure transportation.
- Monitor security providers and local security focal points.
- Lead the regional security response in coordination with the Headquarter during major incidents and crises.
- Ensure rapid escalation, executive reporting and coordinated protective action.
- Maintain and exercise crisis, evacuation and security-continuity plans.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Protect sites, cargo and logistics operations.
- Prevent supply-chain contamination.
- Lead investigations involving criminal activity, insider threats or information compromise.
- Recommend additional protection, alternative routes, operating restrictions or temporary suspension where required.
- Support counterintelligence and the protection of sensitive corporate interests.
- Develop senior-level relationships with authorities.
- Represent GSI and the Group before relevant authorities and security partners.
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Ethics, HR, HSE, Insurance, IT/Cybersecurity, Communications and Public Affairs.
- 10 + years’ experience in diplomacy, security, intelligence, defence, law enforcement, diplomacy or crisis management.
- Strong expertise in geopolitical analysis, people protection, investigations, supply-chain security and business continuity.
- Outstanding communication skills combined with strong judgment, enabling effective counsel to senior executives in complex, high-risk environments.
- Strong knowledge of the regions covered, combined with high standards of integrity and discretion.
- Fluent French and English and willingness to travel frequently;
Regional languages are an asset.
