Job Summary
We are looking for an Aladdin Master Data Associate to join the Investment Operations – Data Management team in Abu Dhabi. The role will be responsible for the accurate, timely, and controlled creation and maintenance of master and reference data within Black Rock Aladdin and related static data in eFront.
The role will manage portfolios, custodians, bank accounts, counter parties, Standard Settlement Instructions (SSIs), security master data, and related configurations, ensuring reliable downstream trade settlement, positions, valuations, and audit readiness. The successful candidate will work within a strong governance and maker-checker environment, with a high level of attention to detail and ownership.
Key Responsibilities- Create, terminate, and maintain portfolios using Aladdin Portfolio Toolkit, including Guided Editor and CSV uploads.
- Manage Master/Sleeve and Parent/Child relationships, Portfolio Groups, hierarchies, custodians, and bank-account linkages.
- Configure trade routing and ADAM requirements, including Trade Ticket MT54x, Capital Flow/Pain.
001, Payment, and Corporate Action election. - Set up POB portfolios, Tax IDs, Ledger Maintenance, and operate the four-eye approval workflow.
- Create and maintain counter parties, including LEI validation, desks, external broker IDs, confirmation routing, and CTM rules.
- Configure and maintain Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI), including ALERT SSI, to support straight-through processing.
- Review and resolve Security Master pending items and validate security reference data such as coupons, floaters, factors, and holiday calendars.
- Cross-check security information against Bloomberg and resolve dummy/temporary ISINs, un-shell securities, and coupon-related corrections.
- Set up and maintain eFront static data, including bank accounts, fund/company classifications, cash/DDA, multi-currency, and internal/external accounts.
- Support account closure, deletion workflows, and mapping to Chart of Accounts / GL.
- Monitor and resolve Security Master exceptions and support asset and cash-break investigations related to static data.
- Investigate differences between Aladdin and custody calculations, including AnSer and accrual-related differences.
- Work with custodians and Black Rock BRS to investigate and resolve data-related issues.
- Follow strict maker-checker controls and maintain complete audit evidence for static-data changes.
- Conduct weekly admin-log reviews covering Security Master, portfolio, bank-account, and configuration changes across Aladdin and eFront.
- Maintain accurate SOPs and process documentation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in investment operations, static/reference data, or middle-office functions.
- Experience with in an asset Manager, sovereign wealth fund, custodian, or Black Rock/Aladdin-type consultancy is preferred.
