Devops Engineer

JOB PURPOSE:

We are looking for a Technology Lead with devops skillset responsible for managing the Development team. This includes anything between complex groups of back-end services and their client-end (desktop and mobile) counterparts. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop these applications, and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. As a Dev Ops Engineer, you will be a member of the IT Infrastructure Systems team collaborating on our Infrastructure as a coding initiative for our hybrid cloud infrastructure.

• Senior professional with 10-12 years of experience in both development and devops.
• Strong expertise in Core Java (version 8 and above), demonstrating proficiency in object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Ensure coding standards are followed in the project.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services such as SQS, Lambda, SNS, API Gateway, Dynamo
  
  DB, etc., using AWS SDKs for both Java and Python.
• Good to know about AWS CDK.
• Extensive experience in designing and developing microservices architecture using Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in Spring Batch and Spring Integration frameworks for building scalable and efficient applications.
• Hands‑on experience in Python development, particularly for AWS Lambda functions, demonstrating the ability to leverage Python in serverless architectures.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and ability to contribute to Low-Level Design (LLD) for complex systems.
• Demonstrated mentorship skills, guiding, and mentoring junior team members to foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing culture.
• Code review of the team members.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
• Managing team and successfully delivering the project.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Cloud Formation.
• Develop, test, and deploy CI/CD pipelines using Git Lab CI/CD, optimizing build, test, and deployment processes.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters, including the setup, configuration, and scaling of containerized applications.
• Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or other relevant scripting tools.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to integrate Dev Ops best practices into the software development lifecycle.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system availability, reliability, and scalability.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to manage and optimize cloud infrastructure and deployments.
• Implement security best practices and compliance controls across cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.

• Functions within the framework and boundaries of Group policies as well as overall organisational and governance frameworks.
• Authorised to take decisions as per the approved authorisation matrix.

• Working experience in an agile software development environment with a good understanding of the principles of agile architecture. Strong collaborative mindset for collective decentralized decision making.
• Demonstrate strong technical skills with a deep understanding of modern architectural styles and practices such as Microservices, Containers, Cloud (AWS, Azure), APIs, Continuous Delivery, Event‑driven architecture, Evolutionary architecture, etc., with a passion for hands on coding.
• Strong foundation knowledge of software architecture concepts, patterns, principles, and quality attributes. Ability to consistently apply them in real-world scenarios with a pragmatic, system thinking, and problem‑solving mindset by analyzing architecture trade‑offs for delivering high‑quality, sustainable solution architecture.
