Position OverviewThe Senior Specialist – Strategic Reserve plays a critical role in ensuring the effective management, readiness, and resilience of the national strategic reserve. The role supports national preparedness during emergencies, crises, and disasters by overseeing stock readiness, coordinating with key stakeholders, and contributing to food security and supply continuity planning. The position requires strong analytical capability, cross-sector coordination, and adherence to governance and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities as Partnerships Lead will include the following:
- Manage and monitor national strategic reserve stock levels to ensure continuous readiness during emergencies, crises, and disaster situations.
- Track inventory status, replenishment cycles, and shelf-life requirements to maintain optimal reserve conditions
- Coordinate with relevant government entities, regulatory bodies, and private-sector partners to ensure alignment on stock levels, preparedness, and data exchange.
- Support collaboration frameworks with strategic partners to enhance supply-chain resilience and emergency responsiveness
- Develop, review, and update emergency response plans and supply-continuity frameworks in coordination with internal teams and external partners.
- Participate in emergency drills, simulations, and crisis-response exercises, and provide post-exercise analysis and improvement recommendations.
- Manage and support subsidy programs related to food and strategic commodities in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate monitoring, reporting, and compliance of subsidy-related initiatives.
- Analyze stock, consumption, demand, and market data to identify supply gaps, risks, and vulnerabilities across the supply chain.
- Proactively flag potential disruptions and recommend mitigation strategies to enhance national food security.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical studies, analytical reports, and assessments related to food security, strategic reserves, and market dynamics.
- Support evidence-based decision-making through data-driven insights and scenario analysis.
- Ensure compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and governance frameworks governing strategic reserves and food security.
- Support audits, reviews, and regulatory reporting requirements as needed.
In order to be successful in this role, you should have
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Economics, Food Security, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., Supply Chain, Risk Management, Emergency Management) are preferred.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in strategic reserves, food security, supply chain management, or emergency/crisis management.
- Proven experience coordinating with government entities and private-sector stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of food security policies, strategic reserve frameworks, and related regulations.
- Excellent analytical, excel, reporting, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Fluency in English is required;
Arabic is an advantage. - Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, high-responsibility environments.
