Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a specific domain of data originating from domain‑specific systems. Convert the requirements from the data product owner to a suitable solution within the established architecture.
• Translate data from the source system to corporate product definitions. Optimize and improve existing data infrastructure for performance, reliability and scalability.
• Develop and sustain data pipelines from source systems to central data systems.
• Manage data integration processing and modelling. Provide relevant reporting that can be used by the data product owner.
• Provide data access in accordance with authorisations following security and architectural guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with software development guidelines and deliver quality through testing and production deployment.
• Work in compliance with relevant SHE‑Q policies and continue to improve processes.

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience as a data engineer.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of various business processes and the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Experience with developing, configuring and deploying data solutions using cloud services and programming languages such as Python and SQL.
• In‑depth knowledge of Azure Databricks, Python/PySpark, SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Solutions and Azure Digital Twin.
• Experience in data warehousing with Kimball and generic data modelling.

• Experience with event‑driven real‑time / stream processing.
• Experience with Power BI.
• Knowledge and experience of IoT data processing and/or time‑series database.
