Senior Backend Engineer — C# / AWS Fintech

A well-funded fintech based in Abu Dhabi, building the infrastructure that powers how customers interact with financial services across the region. The engineering team is lean, senior, and moves fast — decisions happen quickly and your work ships.

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the customer onboarding squad. You'll own the backend systems that sit at the heart of the customer journey — from initial registration through identity verification, compliance checks, and account activation.

This is not a maintenance role. The platform is scaling and there is meaningful greenfield work ahead.

• Designing and building scalable backend services in C# that power the customer onboarding experience
• Owning the full lifecycle of features — from architecture decisions through to production
• Working closely with product, compliance, and frontend engineers to deliver a seamless onboarding flow
• Building integrations with third party KYC, AML, and identity verification providers
• Ensuring systems are performant, secure, and reliable at scale on AWS
• Contributing to engineering standards, code reviews, and technical direction across the team

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with strong C# and .NET
• Solid AWS experience — comfortable across core services (Lambda, RDS, SQS, S3, API Gateway)
• Experience building financial or regulated platforms — fintech, banking, payments or similar
• Understanding of KYC, AML, or customer onboarding flows is a strong advantage
• Strong fundamentals — microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architecture
• Someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and cares about the quality of what they ship
