Fleet Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee our transportation operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fleet management, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This is a key leadership role within our organization, responsible for managing a large fleet of vehicles and ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of goods and services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement fleet management strategies and policies to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our vehicles.
- Monitor and analyze fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all company vehicles, ensuring they are in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of fleet inventory, including vehicle specifications, maintenance schedules, and fuel consumption.
- Plan and coordinate vehicle routes to optimize delivery times and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation laws and regulations, including vehicle registration, insurance, and driver qualifications.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of vehicle parts and services.
- Manage a team of drivers and other fleet personnel, providing training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Prepare and manage the fleet budget, monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in vehicle technology to improve fleet operations.
- Bachelor's degree in transportation management, logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in fleet management, preferably in the transportation industry.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proficient in using fleet management software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions.
- Knowledge of local transportation laws and regulations.
- Valid driver's license.
