Job Brief: Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Logistics Officer to efficiently manage inbound and outbound shipments while ensuring timely coordination with shipping lines and freight agents. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of import/export documentation and hands-on SAP experience, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively across teams.
Responsibilities- Coordinate with shipping lines and freight agents to arrange trailers and containers for inbound deliveries.
- Handle the full cycle of inbound and outbound logistics activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of customs documentation for Abu Dhabi and Dubai operations.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of inbound shipments.
- Manage import and export clearance documentation, particularly for sea freight.
- Prepare monthly logistics reports and presentations using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
- Negotiate shipping rates and terms to ensure cost-effective logistics solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in logistics, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience using SAP, preferably in logistics or supply chain modules.
- Proven experience coordinating with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and agents for arranging trailers and containers for inbound, outbound, export, and local deliveries.
- Strong understanding of inbound and outbound shipment operations, including planning, execution, and follow-up.
- Sound knowledge of import and export clearance documentation, particularly for sea freight and land operations.
- Familiarity with customs procedures and documentation in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
- Capable of maintaining accurate and up-to-date shipment records and logistics documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, with experience preparing monthly operational and performance reports.
- Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills in English;
Arabic language skills are an added advantage. - Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment.
