Responsibilities
Safely operate various types of vehicles ensuring timely and efficient transportation of passengers or goods.
Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage and fuel consumption to ensure adherence to company policies.
Plan and navigate routes using GPS and maps to optimize travel time and avoid delays.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate pick‑up and delivery schedules.
Handle loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring proper securing of items to prevent damage.
Provide excellent customer service, addressing passenger or client needs and concerns during transit.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, maintaining a clean driving record to promote safety.
Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical issues to ensure operational readiness.
Stay informed about local and national transportation regulations and industry best practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a valid driver’s license relevant to the vehicle type.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience in a similar role or industry.
- Familiarity with local traffic laws and regulations, especially in urban environments.
- Possession of a clean driving record, with no serious violations within the past 3 years.
- Certification in defensive driving or transportation safety is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus to serve diverse clients.
- Proficient in using GPS and navigation apps to enhance route efficiency.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and dispatch.
- Physical fitness to handle loading and unloading tasks, including lifting heavy items.
- Dependable and punctual, with a strong commitment to maintaining schedules and meeting deadlines.
