Job Overview
The GSE Technician is responsible for the maintenance, serviceability and positioning of GSE equipment and vehicles in the Technical Operations environment, in compliance with regulatory and company procedures and requirements.
Responsibilities- Control all GSE and vehicles, ensuring they are in serviceable condition.
- Ensure daily and weekly checks of cars and GSE are correctly performed by shifts, using approved authority and company procedures, documentation and processes.
- Ensure safe and smooth functioning of the GSE organization.
- Ensure all maintenance of GSE equipment and vehicles is performed as required by operation and as defined by equipment manufacturer.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory list of all GSE.
- Carry out work in compliance with company health, safety and airport procedures and regulations.
- Keep control of airport passes and permits of vehicles.
- Perform all duties allocated by the GSE Supervisor.
- Create service orders for work required on vehicles and equipment.
- Post maintenance repair inspection of vehicles and GSE.
- Process quotes and follow up LPOs for repairs including fuel card application and collection.
- Ensure the area around aircraft, GSE and aircraft bays is clear of hazards associated with Foreign Object Damage (FOD).
- Use and maintain approved company‑provided PPE during daily GSE activities.
- Obtain and maintain validity of all necessary safety and operation training (e.g., First Aid, Fire Warden, IPAF, HF).
- Ensure staff competency through approved Etihad competency department for GSE staff (knowledge, awareness, experience, capability development and training).
- Behave in a professional manner when dealing with customers, encourage colleagues, and promote a positive reporting culture by reporting unsafe acts, unsafe conditions or safety risks.
- Follow procedures in the Safety and Quality Management Manual and actively participate in the workplace safety program.
- Strong AMOS background preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of airline/MRO experience preferred.
- Trained in safety procedures and precautions when handling GSE (fuel, oil, oxygen, nitrogen).
- Trained in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Holding valid UAE driving license for at least 2 years (light or heavy vehicles).
- Valid IPAF training certificate or license.
- Minimum 5 years aviation experience, including at least 2 years in a related position (GSE - Aircraft Maintenance).
- Must be able to work nights and weekends, work under stress, and communicate perfectly in English.
- High school leaving certificate/Diploma preferred with background in aircraft engineering studies.
