About the Job

Manages and closely monitors day to day ship's marine activities and aspects for smooth operations at sea and port, without delays or accidents. Ensures vessel availability, performance, integrity, and safety, and compliance with regulations and standards. Focuses on operational excellence, health & safety management, minimizing environmental impacts, and optimizing costs.

Job Specific Accountabilities
- Section 1
  • Monitor work activities such as voyage performance, including speed and fuel consumption, to ensure achievement of assigned targets.
  • Define work deliverables and achievement milestones in accordance with approved targets.
  • Study and examine progress of daily work and recommend alterations to the work plan to meet approved schedules.
  • Inspect and report work conditions and recommend modifications to eliminate safety hazards to personnel, environment, or assets.
  • Distribute and monitor compliance with changes in work instructions in accordance with revisions or alterations to international or state regulations.
  • Interact with counterparts, ship masters, and external agencies to resolve operational conflicts and facilitate ship passage and voyage requirements.
  • Contribute to development and approval of ship contingency plans, and participate in emergency exercises to ensure preparedness and promote safety culture.
  • Provide professional advice and act as marine expert to team members and the organization on related matters.
  • Review and evaluate reports, logbooks, and statistics submitted by vessels and management staff members to ensure ships are being operated in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Participate in fleet assessment reviews to promote safety awareness among vessel crews and recommend improvements to existing procedures.
  • Assign fuel and fresh water quotas on a monthly basis for vessel consumption and monitor their consumption with analytical tools.
Job Specific Accountabilities

  • Act as liaison between ships and agents, charterers, and other external stakeholders to ensure preparation and completion of necessary requirements prior to ship arrival/departure to port and sailing to sea.
  • Respond to ship master’s inquiries on voyage schedules and other matters of concern to avoid any confusion or operational delays, ensuring clarity of voyage orders.
  • Monitor and audit fleet vessels’ management standards and operating conditions, and oversee the safety of operations related to marine activities to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, state, and class requirements.
  • Take part in incident investigations and monitor progress of corrective actions to ensure close‑outs of recommendations.
  • Ensure business continuity and contract administration of all fleet vessels (owned fleet and chartered fleet).
  • Ensure all payable/receivable items related to fleet operations are processed and submitted on time as per contractual obligations.
  • Maintain record for fleet utilization, including on‑hire and off‑hire records.
  • Coordinate and liaise with relevant stakeholders for vessel release from operations to carry out scheduled maintenance and surveys.
  • Carry out marine contractor audits as per ADNOC requirements and ensure all findings are closed within stipulated duration.
  • Carry out marine contractor evaluation based on performance of chartered vessels.
  • Technical evaluation and inspection of new hire and new build vessels to verify compliance with ADNOC standards.
  • Evaluate marine crew suitability as per ADNOC standards.
  • Act as focal point for internal and external department audits.
Minimum Requirements
  • Master Mariner / Chief Engineer certificate.
  • Minimum 6 (six) years’ experience in Offshore Oil & Gas industry.
Professional Certifications
  • OSV, DP experience preferable.
