Job Purpose
The Aircraft Dispatcher manages the turnaround of aircraft in coordination with multiple stakeholders across the airport, including authorities, service providers, and airline flight crew, to ensure the safe and timely dispatch of the aircraft. The aircraft dispatcher has full control of the aircraft turnaround process and ensures activities are completed safely and on time and in line with the airline PTS, influencing external stakeholders where necessary.
Responsible for the weight & balance of aircraft, a focus on safety is crucial while maintaining compliance with all safety & security protocols and processes as stipulated by authorities and the airlines.
- Accountable for weight & balance or load planning for various aircraft types across multiple airlines.
- Ensure compliance with weight and balance requirements by calculating and distributing load to maintain safe and efficient aircraft operations.
- Plan payload and overall load distribution.
- Supervise, control, and influence the turnaround of aircraft, ensuring safe and timely contribution by all stakeholders.
- Effective communication & coordination with all relevant stakeholders.
- Manage turnaround processes and lead EASG teams with a positive, can-do attitude that inspires others for maximum efficiency.
- Take a proactive approach to events around you and go above and beyond to ensure the best possible experience for passengers and airlines.
- Make key tactical decisions and have authority to take decisions affecting the safe and timely departure of the aircraft.
- Anticipate delays that affect the PTS and update TOBT accordingly after mitigating or minimizing the delay.
- Ensure stakeholders operate safely, rectify unsafe behaviors and report any unsafe practices.
- Allocate delay codes for off-schedule departures after a comprehensive investigation of contributing factors, and provide insightful reporting to drive future service-level improvements.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position with responsibility for load control / weight & balance of aircraft.
• Knowledge and understanding of weight and balance (relevant to aircraft); knowledge of load control is advantageous.
• Familiarity with emergency procedures.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Valid UAE driving license, or a valid driving license approved by your home country eligible for conversion.
• Knowledge in handling and storage of dangerous goods is advantageous; previous DGR certification preferred.
