Supervise, monitor, and control the day‑to‑day tanker vessels operations (owned, chartered and managed tanker vessels) while at sea and in ports to ensure that vessels are operated, cargo has been handled safely and in line with operating targets and complying with latest regulations and Company’s standards.
Key Accountabilities- Manage all day‑to‑day operations activities relating to owned, charter in and managed tanker vessel’s cargoes under the authority of the Operations Manager, and where necessary providing administrative and technical support to tanker vessels Masters.
- Contribute in the pre‑fixture requirements with Chartering team.
- Supervise, monitor vessels compliance with charter parity and voyage orders requirements.
- Ensure compliance of all vessels with ADNOC procedures, International Regulations, Flag State and classification authorities.
- Coordinate with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels, including brokers, charters, legal, insurance, terminal operators and port authorities to ensure safe, smooth and economic operations.
- Ensure that cargo handling, including load, discharge and cargo tanks preparations are performed in accordance with the approved safe, efficient standards and procedures and to ensure adequate reporting.
- Confirm compliance with operations procedure by means of planned ship’s inspections whenever possible.
- Plan and manage voyages including loading, sea passage, vessel performance, ship/tanks condition, cargo intakes, vessel and crew operational performance standards.
- Where required prepare and direct ship vetting and monitoring systems.
- Plan and manage port calls, negotiate competitive DA accounts, liaise with agents, master, customers, brokers to ensure all port calls are efficient, safe and effective ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Ensure cargo handling at load and disports is performed in accordance with approved safety and operational efficiency standards.
- Monitor performance at sea and where necessary formulate speed and consumption claims.
- Approve relevant documentation in order to meet requirements of ADNOC standards and requirements.
- Prepare, analyse and present reports as required in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide technical and administrative assistance during negotiation phase to achieve terms and conditions commercially favorable to ADNOC.
- Follow up with the ship vetting clearance / inspection system.
- Master Mariner Class 1.
- Around 10 years’ sea experience, including two years as a Master, three years as Chief Officers on‑board tanker vessels.
- Deck senior rank experience on‑board chemical tankers is an asset.
- Detailed understanding of various aspects of the operation of tankers.
- Managements, Leadership, Teamwork, and Communications, Problem Solving & Effective Decision Maker courses/certifications are an asset.
- Tanker and Chemical endorsements are an asset.
