Professional Head – Train Operations; Freight & Passenger

The Professional Head – Train Operations (Freight & Passenger) leads the development and mobilisation of Company's freight and future passenger railway operations, establishing the operating model, operational procedures, operational readiness framework and operational performance strategy to support safe, reliable and efficient railway operations.

Acting as the Technical Authority for train operations, the role defines operating principles, driver management arrangements, operational standards and performance regimes, competence management standards and provides operational input into the Company Operations Safety Case, Rule Book and regulatory authorisation processes.

The position leads the mobilisation of the train operations workforce, including Train Drivers, and ensures readiness for Testing & Commissioning, trial running and Entry into Service.

Prior to commercial operations, the role will focus on operational readiness activities in respect of train operations as determined by the Operational Readiness Plan.
