Shipping and Logistics Specialist (EPC Project) – Abu Dhabi Branch

Arkad is expanding its project execution team for a strategic, local EPC project in the Abu Dhabi area
. We are looking for a hands‑on Shipping and Logistics Specialist to join us under an Abu Dhabi contractual framework.
Note:
This position focuses on the execution of shipping procedures, transportation documentation, and direct interface with freight forwarders to ensure all project materials arrive on time and in full compliance.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Shipment Planning & Execution: Ensure that all project shipments are dispatched on time and strictly according to the defined project plan, schedule, company procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Documentation & Compliance: Prepare all necessary administrative transportation documentation. Ensure all shipping, packing, and marking procedures strictly match project requirements and comply with international and local governmental regulations.
- Letters of Credit (L/C) Administration: Verify vendor certificates and generate/submit the appropriate documentation for letters of credit to guarantee absolute compliance with all export and import rules.
- Forwarder Coordination: Release project shipments to designated Freight Forwarders based on vendor packing lists. Provide key administrative support in identifying, evaluating, and selecting Forwarders for both domestic and international transportation.
- Freight & Logistics Liaising: Coordinate closely with the transportation and logistics groups (including international branch staff) to secure freight quotes, manage transport documentation, and track final deliveries.
- Hazardous Goods Compliance: Safely manage and oversee the shipping of project goods in accordance with all relevant international and regional legislation pertaining to the transport of hazardous materials where applicable.
- Records & Archiving: Maintain a meticulous, traceable archive of all documentation regarding the shipping, customs clearance, and delivery of project goods.
- Experience: Proven experience working in international shipping, freight forwarding, and logistics coordination within EPC, Oil & Gas, Energy, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of import/export rules, international customs regulations, Inco Terms, and Letters of Credit (L/C) documentation requirements. Foundational knowledge of hazardous goods transport regulations (ADR/IMDG/IATA) is highly regarded.
- Soft Skills: Highly proactive, flexible, and structured problem solver with excellent communication and listening skills.
- Languages: Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory for international coordination and documentation.
