We are seeking an experienced Road Safety Officer to oversee road and transportation safety operations in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for vehicle inspections, driver behaviour monitoring, traffic management, transportation risk assessments, and compliance with company and ADNOC safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles, heavy equipment, road conditions, and marine transportation assets.
- Monitor driver behaviour using IVMS/FMS systems and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and implement traffic management plans, transportation routes, and road safety procedures.
- Prepare Transportation Risk Assessments (TRA), Formal Risk Assessments (FRA), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Conduct daily and weekly IVMS audits and monitor subcontractor transportation safety performance.
- Investigate road and transportation incidents, accidents, and near misses.
- Maintain inspection reports, safety dashboards, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure adherence to ADNOC Life-Saving Rules, IMS policies, and applicable transportation safety regulations.
- 3-10 years of relevant experience in road and transportation safety.
- Experience in offshore/onshore transportation safety operations.
- Practical knowledge of IVMS/FMS driver monitoring systems.
- Experience preparing traffic management plans and transportation risk assessments.
- Knowledge of ADNOC safety requirements and industrial transportation procedures.
- Experience inspecting heavy vehicles, equipment, and transportation assets.
- Strong reporting, auditing, and incident investigation skills.
Required:
- IOSH Managing Safely certification or any other relevant certificate
- Road Safety / Traffic Management certification.
- Defensive Driving or Driver Safety Training certification.
- Valid UAE Driving Licence.
- ADNOC Road Safety approval or relevant training.
- ISO 45001 Internal Auditor certification.
- IVMS / Fleet Safety Management training.
- This is specifically a Road Safety Officer position, not an HSE Engineer position.
- Candidates should have practical experience in road safety, vehicle and transport inspections, driver behaviour monitoring, IVMS, and traffic management.
- General HSE experience alone is not sufficient to establish suitability.
