The Warehouse Worker performs essential physical and administrative duties to support facility-wide logistics including shipping and receiving materials, loading and unloading trucks, and moving, managing the preservation, packaging, and storage of materials, supplies, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Unload and sling loads, safely unloading incoming delivery trucks.
- Review packaging or advice notes against purchase orders and required compliance certificates.
- Verify quantities and descriptions of goods against the PO and record findings on the goods received note.
- Mark discrepancies on the note and alert the purchasing department immediately.
- Tag incoming goods and place them in the designated awaiting inspection area.
- Distribute all relevant receiving paperwork to the correct departments.
- Determine which items require further evaluation, tag and receive them into ERP.
- Officially receive items meeting inspection into the ERP Warehouse.
- Maintain the stores and goods-in areas, including plant equipment, tools, and consumables, in a safe, clean, orderly, and tidy condition.
- Organize warehouse locations to simplify daily storage and retrieval, ensuring items are placed in correct locations, properly tagged, and preserved.
- Periodically check the physical condition of goods stored in the warehouse.
- Track and control the shelf-life of limited-life items, advising the manager of impending expiration dates.
- Maintain separate areas for damaged or dead stock to prevent inadvertent use.
- Prevent unauthorized removal or entrance of any item, ensuring every movement is recorded.
- Carry out routine inventory checks and cycle counts as required.
- Pick items accurately according to pick lists and advise the order coordinator of discrepancies.
- Ensure all picked items are in good physical condition and properly preserved.
- Assemble cartons and pack materials according to established company procedures.
- Construct wooden export crates for parts and rotors when required.
- Package items securely to prevent damage and loss during transit.
- Mark boxes and cases with all required shipping and handling markings.
- Distribute final shipping paperwork and load outgoing trucks safely.
- Perform all warehousing, receiving, and packaging duties in strict accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Actively suggest improvements to management for improving established systems and workflows.
- Perform any other duties and tasks throughout the facility as directed by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Three to five years of proven experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Advanced understanding of receiving inspections and experience inputting logistical data into tracking databases/ERP systems.
