East Lancashire Learning Group is a beacon for educational excellence, made up of a family of colleges – Nelson & Colne College, Accrington & Rossendale College and Lancashire Adult Learning. Together the Group forms a Sixth Form, Skills and Technology Centre, University Centre, employer training and adult learning provider delivering exceptional teaching and learning to all ages and at all levels.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Exam Access Arrangements Coordinator to join our Additional Learning Support Team.
This is a pivotal role within one of the College's most important learner support functions. We support a growing number of learners who require Exam Access Arrangements across 16-18 study programmes, apprenticeships and adult learning. At any one time, around 1,000 learners have approved arrangements in place, making this a high-profile and business-critical role.
As Exam Access Arrangements Coordinator, you will oversee the coordination of the College's Exam Access Arrangements processes, ensuring learners receive the support and reasonable adjustments they are entitled to whilst maintaining full compliance with JCQ regulations and awarding organisation requirements.
Working closely with Specialist Assessors, the Examinations Team, curriculum staff and Additional Learning Support colleagues, you will coordinate the entire process from referral through to implementation, ensuring systems, records and deadlines are managed effectively.
This role would suit an experienced professional with exceptional organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to coordinate complex processes across a large organisation. The successful candidate will be primarily based at Accrington & Rossendale College and Nelson & Colne College.
What You Will Be Doing:- Coordinating the College's Exam Access Arrangements processes across all areas of provision.
- Managing referrals, evidence collection, assessment scheduling and implementation of arrangements.
- Acting as the central point of contact for learners, staff, Specialist Assessors and the Examinations Team.
- Monitoring key deadlines and ensuring compliance with JCQ regulations and awarding organisation requirements.
- Maintaining accurate learner records and documentation across multiple systems.
- Producing reports and management information relating to Exam Access Arrangements activity.
- Supporting quality assurance, audit and inspection requirements.
- Developing and improving processes to ensure an efficient and learner-centred service.
- Providing advice and guidance to staff regarding Exam Access Arrangements and reasonable adjustments.
- Supporting a growing number of learners to access assessments fairly and successfully.
- Experience of coordinating complex administrative or operational processes.
- Experience of working within education, learner support or a similarly regulated environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience of maintaining confidential records and handling sensitive information.
- Excellent digital and ICT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
- Experience of using databases, learner management systems or other digital platforms to manage information and produce reports.
- The ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
