HR Advisor – Accrington, Lancashire

Salary: £33,000‑£35,000 circa.

Hours:

39 per week. Office based.

HR Recruit, a national HR‑focused recruitment agency, is seeking an experienced HR professional to join an expanding organization in the education/care sector.

Role Responsibilities
  • Manage the recruitment and probation process for staff.
  • Oversee the efficient DBS process under safer recruitment in Education procedures.
  • Ensure all personnel records (including electronic files) are accurate, up to date and confidential.
  • Provide advice and guidance to leaders and managers to ensure a first‑class HR service.
  • Ensure HR matters are conducted in line with best practice.
  • Coordinate with payroll over changes to staff pay.
  • Arrange staff induction.
  • Deliver absence‑management administration, including return‑to‑work forms and absence meetings.
  • Monitor and manage staff medical certificates.
  • Assist in implementing training plans and creating career pathways for employees.
  • Provide general administrative support as required.
  • Issue annual salary statements and data‑collection forms to all staff.
  • Assist with the annual updating of the personnel handbook.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise employee engagement.
  • Maintain records of staff appraisals and ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure staff leaver processes are followed, including the destruction of documentation (paper and electronic).
Person Specification
  • Experience working within an educational setting is an advantage but not essential.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Self‑motivated with proven ability to multi‑task.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must hold a valid driving licence.

In return you will receive a salary between £33,000‑£35,000 circa (depending on experience).
