Position: CNC Miller (Permanent)
Location: Hyndburn

Our client are a medium sized engineering firm who are looking to recruit a CNC Miller to join the team.

The role is initially on a morning shift but the role will go on 2 shift eventually with a rate increase when this happens.

Key Responsibilities:

* Machining parts from 1m to 5m in length.

* Following offline programming documents which include job set-up, tooling sheets & methods required for machining sequences.

* Changing tools/inserts & alter offsets to maintain parts to required engineering specifications.

* Downloading CNC programs and save proven files.

* Operating manual machining centres if/when applicable.

* To measure and inspect manufactured items to assure accuracy to the drawing and report any deficiencies to the inspector and your manager.

* To identify equipment maintenance and repair needs.

* To perform routine maintenance on equipment.

* To produce work to the quality standard required whilst keeping waste to a minimum.

* To follow written instructions, safe working practices and to always maintain a safe and tidy work area.

* To help improve safety, quality and productivity through the continual improvement process.

Requirements:

* Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience using multi-axis CNC milling machines.

* Ideally with experience of gantry style equipment with universal head with Fanuc control and of travelling column equipment (e.g. Elga-mill) with Heidenhain control. Kafo RV-5140 Double column gantry CNC milling machine - Fanuc control, Butler Elga-mill - Universal CNC milling machine - Heidenhain control

* Reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.

* Have high levels of concentration and focus to achieve production targets and scheduled customer deadlines.

* Good knowledge of lifting using cranes & setting/clamping large parts up to 5 tonnes.

* Evidence of training in safe use of overhead cranes & forklift truck preferred.

The role is 36 hours per week, 6am to 3pm Monday To Thursday.
