CNC Miller Multi-Axis / Gantry Heidenhain & Fanuc Engineering Firm Trafford Park Permanent

Experienced CNC Miller required for a permanent role with a medium-sized engineering firm.

Our client, a well-established engineering company, is recruiting a skilled CNC Miller to join their team. This role initially runs a morning shift but will move to a 2-shift pattern with an increased rate once implemented.

Key Responsibilities CNC Miller

• Machine parts ranging from 1m to 5m in length

• Follow offline programming documentation including job set-up, tooling sheets, and machining methods

• Change tools/inserts and adjust offsets to maintain engineering tolerances

• Download CNC programs and save proven files

• Operate manual machining centers when required

• Measure and inspect components to ensure accuracy to engineering drawings

• Identify and report equipment maintenance and repair needs

• Perform routine equipment maintenance

• Produce work to the required quality standards while minimising waste

• Follow written instructions, safe working practices, and maintain a tidy workspace

• Contribute to continual improvement initiatives for safety, quality, and productivity

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience on multi-axis CNC milling machines

• Experience with gantry-style machines with Fanuc control and travelling column machines (e.g., Elga-mill) with Heidenhain control

• Examples include:

  • Kafo RV-5140 Double Column Gantry CNC Mill Fanuc

  • Butler Elga-mill Universal CNC Milling Machine Heidenhain

• Able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings

• Experience lifting and clamping large parts up to 5 tonnes

• Knowledge of overhead crane and forklift truck safe operations

• High concentration and focus to meet production targets and deadlines

Hours & Pay

• Monday Thursday: 6:00am 3:00pm

• 36 hours per week

• Morning shift initially, moving to 2-shift pattern with rate increase
