- Lead all financial functions for the pet food manufacturing plant
- Oversee monthly accounting close processes
- Prepare financial statements and ensure legal and tax compliance
- Prepare documentation for year-end audits with external accounting firms
- Manage annual tax filings and government remittances
- Track raw material costs throughout the manufacturing process
- Analyze production variances and collaborate with Operations to optimize costs
- Maintain a reliable cost structure to support pricing
- Develop the plant’s annual budget and prepare monthly forecasts
- Support pricing strategy based on variable costs and product profitability
- Manage cash flow, supplier payments, and customer collections
- Anticipate liquidity requirements and monitor financing agreements
- Prepare required financial reports and manage banking relationships
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Procurement teams
- Supervise the activities of the Accounting Technician
- Provide financial analyses for investments and industrial projects
- Develop financial KPIs to monitor performance
- Implement controls over inventory movements, including raw materials, finished products, and losses
- Participate in ERP optimization to meet food manufacturing requirements
- Promote a culture of financial rigor and accountability
- CPA designation
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial roles at the intermediate to senior level
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or agri-food environment
- Strong expertise in cost accounting and inventory management
- Proficiency with the File Maker platform
- Familiarity with accounting and payroll software, such as Acomba or Nethris
- Knowledge of U.S. accounting principles is an asset
- Fluency in written and spoken French
- Strong written and spoken English skills to facilitate communication with the United States
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial issues clearly to operational teams
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, autonomy, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
Demonstrates expertise in financial management within a manufacturing environment, including cost accounting, inventory management, and compliance with legal and tax regulations. Proficient in developing budgets, financial forecasts, and KPIs while fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
