The position focuses on delivering fast, friendly service by actively assisting customers, learning about products, and helping to sell a project. Associates greet, qualify, recommend, and close with customers in their department, and they may handle basics in adjacent departments. They maintain in-stock conditions, ensure areas are clean, shop-able, and safe, and contribute to a safe working and shopping environment by following safety policies and training, correcting hazards, or reporting conditions to the Manager on Duty.

Collaboration with the Department Supervisor and other department associates is required. Specific store departments may include Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental. The position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.

• Greet and qualify customers and assess their needs
• Recommend products and close sales to complete customer projects
• Learn product information using company tools
• Maintain in-stock condition and ensure areas are clean, shop-able, and safe
• Follow safety policies, complete required safety training, and report hazards or unsafe conditions
• Collaborate with Department Supervisor and other associates across departments
• Support multiple departments as needed (e.g., Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, Tool Rental)
• Handle various role types within the store (e.g., Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, Customer Order Specialist)
