Position SummaryThe Foreman is responsible for leading field crews and overseeing daily operations on DOT ITS (inductive loop). This role requires hands‑on technical expertise, particularly in inductive loop installation at active intersections, as well as strong leadership and safety management skills. The Foreman ensures work is performed in compliance with GDOT specifications, project plans, and safety standards. Must know how to set up MTUCD work zones.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, supervise, and coordinate field crews to ensure efficient and safe project execution.
- Cut inductive loops at active intersections in accordance with Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) specifications.
- Locate and identify corresponding pull boxes associated with inductive loops to be cut.
- Demonstrate general knowledge and practical application of GDOT standards and specifications related to inductive loop cutting and installation.
- Properly seal inductive loops to ensure durability, performance, and compliance with project requirements.
- Plan daily work activities, assign tasks, and monitor crew productivity and workmanship.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, including traffic control compliance in active roadway environments.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain jobsite documentation, including daily reports and material usage as required.
- Enforce company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures at all times.
- Proven experience as a Foreman or Lead Technician on DOT ITS.
- Demonstrated ability to cut, seal, and troubleshoot inductive loops at active intersections.
- Working knowledge of GDOT specifications related to inductive loop installation.
- Ability to locate and identify pull boxes and associated conduit systems.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a crew.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Metro Atlanta.
- Prior experience working as a foreman on GDOT projects.
- Experience with ITS, every aspect of inductive loop instillation.
- Outdoor work in active roadway and traffic environments.
- Night work 8pm-5am, weekends, and extended hours may be required depending on project needs.
- Physical ability to perform hands‑on loop installation tasks.
